Navigating Catalog
Catalog is one of the Nucleo modules. Once you open it from the module switcher at the top of the sidebar, the sidebar lists the pages of the module in groups. This guide explains what each entry opens, how to reach the settings, and the conventions that every page follows.
In these guides, a path such as Catalog > Catalog > Products means: open the Catalog module, open the Catalog entry in the sidebar, and then click Products. A path that starts with Catalog > Settings goes through Settings at the bottom of the sidebar.
Learn the Products area of the sidebar
The Products group of the sidebar holds these entries:
| Entry | What it opens |
|---|---|
| Home | What Atomo found in your catalog, what happened while you were away and the state of your connections. See The Home page. |
| Catalog > Products | The list of every product. See The product list. |
| Catalog > Categories | The category tree. See Categories. |
| Catalog > Pricing | Price lists and sales. See Price lists. |
| Catalog > Inventory | Stock on hand across your locations. See Inventory. |
| Catalog > Enrichment | The queue that completes missing attribute values. See Filling missing attributes. |
| Search | Playground, Queries, Findability, Synonyms and Facets for site search. See How site search works. |
| Merchandising | Sorting, Global rules and Strategies. See Sorting categories. |
| Recommendations | Widgets and Playground. See Recommendation widgets. |
| Shoppers | Profiles, Signal and Test events. See Shopper profiles. |
Clicking Catalog in the sidebar opens Products directly. Below the Products group, the Assets group holds Library and Product assets, and the Feeds group holds Feeds.
Open Settings
The settings of Catalog aren't a page of the sidebar. Settings sits at the bottom of the sidebar: it opens a panel next to the sidebar, and the page you click in the panel opens on the right. The arrow at the top of the panel takes you back to the page you came from.
Steps
- In Nucleo, go to Catalog and click Settings at the bottom of the sidebar.
- In the panel, click an entry. Its pages open as tabs at the top of the page.
Under Catalog, the panel lists these entries:
| Entry | Tabs | Guides |
|---|---|---|
| Catalog data | General, Attributes, Attribute sets, Localization, Locations, Code types | Workspace settings, Attributes, Attribute sets, Languages and translations, Locations, Code types |
| Data flows | Imports, Exports, Feeds | Importing data, Exporting data, About feeds |
| Search | Attributes, Ranking, Redirects, Installations | How site search works |
| Assets | Languages, Delivery, Destinations, Shared links | Delivery presets |
| Atomo | What Atomo knows | What Atomo knows about your catalog |
If you manage your company, the top of the panel also lists the company's settings: Users, Plan, Atomo and Connections. These are the same in every module. Your connected platforms, such as your Shopify store, are in Connections. See Connectors.
Save or discard your changes
Pages with a form don't have a Save button in the page header. As soon as you change something, an Unsaved changes bar appears at the bottom center of the screen, with Discard and Save. The bar stays until you save or discard.
Steps
- Make your changes on the page.
- In the Unsaved changes bar, do one of the following:
- Click Save, or press ⌘S (Ctrl+S on Windows), to keep the changes. The bar disappears once they are saved.
- Click Discard to go back to the last saved version.
If you try to leave the page with unsaved changes, such as clicking another entry of the sidebar, you stay where you are and the bar shakes: save or discard first. When a page has several sections that save on their own, the bar shows the name of the section under Unsaved changes, so you know what you're about to save.
When a field can't be saved, the message appears under the field itself and the cursor moves to the first field to fix. Everything that wasn't saved stays in the form.
See who else is on the page
On products, categories and the other pages you edit, the avatars of the colleagues who have the same page open appear in the header, next to More actions. A yellow dot on an avatar means that person has unsaved changes. Hover an avatar to read Viewing this page or Has unsaved changes.
If you have unsaved changes while someone else is editing the same page too, a second notice sits behind the Unsaved changes bar, such as Anna is also editing this page: whoever saves last overwrites the other's changes, so agree on who saves first.
Find the numbers about your catalog
Catalog has no separate analytics page. The figures that tell you where the catalog needs attention sit on the pages where you act on them:
- Home opens with the size of the catalog, searches that found nothing, proposals waiting for a decision and the fields that returns point to.
- The product list shows a Completeness score for every product. See Read completeness.
- Inventory shows units on hand per location and, when sales data is available, stock-outs, sell-through and idle stock.
- Enrichment shows which attributes have gaps and what returns say about them.
- Search > Queries shows what shoppers look for and don't find. See Queries.
Considerations for navigating Catalog
- The Atomo button in the bottom-right corner opens the assistant next to the page you're on. See Using Atomo in Catalog.
- Many pages have keyboard shortcuts, such as
/to search the product list. Press?on a page to see the ones it offers. - The tab of your browser reads the company, the page and the module, so you can tell your open tabs apart.
- If a page or a button described in these guides is missing for you, check your role with an owner or admin of your company, and the Feature access switches in Workspace settings.
- The Feeds area of the sidebar is still being built. See About feeds.
