What Atomo knows about your catalog

Atomo learns your catalog by counting, not by guessing. It notices which attribute plays the role of color or size, and regularities such as a micro color that always goes with the same macro color. Nothing it observes is used until a person signs it off.

This lives in Catalog > Settings > Atomo: open Settings at the bottom of the left rail and click Atomo in the panel. The page has these tabs: Catalog profile, To sign off, Active, Memories, Procedures, Explained by hand and Rejected. Signing off, writing instructions and managing procedures require the owner or admin role.

Confirm your catalog profile

Catalog profile says which attributes of your catalog play the roles Nucleo understands, such as color, size or gender. It's the map search, filters and suggestions read your catalog with. Each role shows the attribute Atomo proposes, the reason, and the candidates under Not picked:, so you know there was an alternative.

Steps

  1. In Nucleo, go to Catalog > Settings > Atomo, and click Catalog profile.
  2. Optional: click Read the catalog to have Atomo read the catalog again after big changes.
  3. For each proposed role, do one of the following:
    1. Click Confirm to sign it off.
    2. Click Not this one to reject the proposal.
    3. Pick an attribute in Pick an attribute… and click Assign to choose it yourself.
    4. Click the remove icon next to an attribute, and then Remove, to take it off the role.
Note
A role with No attribute isn't an error: a catalog without seasons simply has no season attribute.

Sign off what Atomo has observed

Steps

  1. In Nucleo, go to Catalog > Settings > Atomo, and click To sign off. The number shows how many observations are waiting.
  2. Read each observation and its evidence.
  3. Click Confirm to let Atomo use it, or Not true to reject it.

Signed-off observations move to Active: that's what Atomo uses today, for example to stop proposing a generic value where your taxonomy already has a more precise one. Click Withdraw the sign-off to take one back.

Note
Until you sign an observation off, Atomo can mention it but doesn't use it.

Keep Atomo's memories

A memory is a fact Atomo keeps for the whole company and reads in every conversation, such as SKUs start with the season code. You can tell Atomo in chat (remember that…, from now on…) or write it here.

Steps

  1. In Nucleo, go to Catalog > Settings > Atomo, and click Memories.
  2. To add one, type it in the field and click Remember. A memory written here applies right away.
  3. A memory said in chat appears marked To sign off and said in chat. An owner or admin clicks Approve to let Atomo use it, or opens More actions and clicks Discard.
  4. To remove a memory, open More actions and click Forget.
Note
Editors can add and forget memories. Memories said in chat apply only after an owner or admin approves them.

Write procedures

A procedure says how your company does something, such as how you write product descriptions or how you name SKUs. Atomo sees the list in every conversation and reads a procedure when a request is of that kind.

Steps

  1. In Nucleo, go to Catalog > Settings > Atomo, and click Procedures.
  2. Click New procedure.
  3. In Name, type a short name, such as Product descriptions.
  4. In When to use it, describe the requests it applies to.
  5. In How it is done, write the steps and rules as you would explain them to a new colleague.
  6. Click Save.

Each procedure shows when it was last used. Turn its switch off to pause it, click the pencil icon (Edit) to change it, or the trash icon (Delete) and then the confirm icon to remove it. You can also ask Atomo in chat to save what you just did as a procedure.

Write instructions for Atomo

Explained by hand holds what your catalog doesn't say on its own: how your taxonomy is organized, what your abbreviations mean, the product facts that repeat. Atomo reads it in every conversation.

Steps

  1. In Nucleo, go to Catalog > Settings > Atomo, and click Explained by hand.
  2. Write your instructions in Instructions for Atomo, one fact per line, for example Codes starting with RW are the Reverse line. or The male model is 187 cm tall.
  3. Click Save in the Unsaved changes bar.
Note
Instructions guide Atomo's answers. They don't change on their own the values proposed on products, which stay tied to what the product's texts and photos say.

Review rejected suggestions

Every suggestion someone dismisses with × in the product editor is recorded in Rejected. After three rejections of the same word/value pair, Atomo stops proposing it; a group rejected in a work goes quiet at once.

  • Click Put it back in play on a silenced pair to let Atomo propose it again.
  • Click Mute now on a pair to silence it without waiting for more rejections.

Set how Atomo behaves for your company

The settings that apply to Atomo across the whole company are no longer in Catalog: they're in Settings > Organization > Atomo, one place for every module. There, owners and admins turn Atomo on or off for the company, write the company's instructions, set a monthly limit and see the usage. Companies on an Enterprise plan can also use their own AI keys and models.

For the steps, see Atomo settings for your company.

Note
What you set in Catalog > Settings > Atomo is about your catalog: roles, observations, memories, procedures and instructions. The company's settings decide whether and how Atomo runs at all.
