The product list
The product list is the master list of everything you sell. It's built for large catalogs: the search, the filters, the sort order and the page you're on are all part of the page address, so any slice of the catalog can be bookmarked or sent to a colleague, who sees exactly the same products.
To open it, go to Catalog > Catalog > Products. The search and filter bar sits on top of the table; it scrolls away as you go down and comes back when you scroll up. The table header always stays visible.
Search and filter products
Steps
- In Nucleo, go to Catalog > Catalog > Products.
- Click in the Search and filter bar and type. The list updates as you type, matching titles, SKUs and codes.
- To add a filter, click in the empty bar, or type nothing and pick a field from the menu. Use Search filters at the top of the menu to find a field quickly.
- Tick the values you want. Where it applies, switch between Is and Is not.
- For Price and Stock, enter a Min, a Max or both.
Each active filter shows in the bar as a token, such as Status is Active. Click a token to change it, or click its × to remove it. With the search box empty, pressing Backspace removes the last filter. The × at the right end of the bar clears the search and every filter.
| Filter group | Fields |
|---|---|
| Main | Status, Brand, Category, Attribute set, Market, Price and Stock. |
| Data quality | Translation: products that have a language, or with Is not, products missing it. |
| Attributes | Every option attribute of your catalog, such as color, material or season. |
Find a list of SKUs
To find exactly the products on a list you already have, such as a column copied from a spreadsheet, paste the whole list into the search.
Steps
- Copy the SKUs, one per line or separated by commas, semicolons or tabs.
- In the product list, click in the Search and filter bar and paste.
Nucleo turns the list into a comma-separated search and shows only the products whose SKU matches one of the codes exactly.
Save and manage views
A view stores a combination of search text, filters and sort order that you use often. The view switcher is on the left of the bar: All shows the whole catalog, and Catalog creates a starter view for each product status the first time you open the list.
Steps
- Set up the search, the filters and the sort order you want to keep.
- Click Save view, enter a View name, and confirm.
- To manage your views, open the view switcher and do one of the following:
- Click a view to apply it.
- Click the pencil icon to rename it, then confirm the new name.
- Click the copy icon to duplicate it.
- Click the trash icon to delete it.
- When you change the filters of an open view, click Save to update it, or Save as new view to keep both.
Sort the list and choose columns
Open the sort and columns control on the right of the bar. Under Sort by, pick an order; under Columns, show, hide and drag columns into the order you want. You can also sort by clicking the header of the Product, SKU, Price and Stock columns.
| Sort option | Order |
|---|---|
| Newest first / Oldest first | By creation date. Newest first is the default. |
| Name A–Z / Name Z–A | By product title. |
| SKU A–Z / SKU Z–A | By SKU. |
| Most variants / Fewest variants | By number of variants. |
| Highest price / Lowest price | By price. |
| Highest stock / Lowest stock | By stock on hand. |
| Most returned / Least returned | By returns. Products that have never sold stay at the bottom in both directions. Sorting by returns shows the Returns column automatically. |
SKU, Product type, Gender, Price, Channels, Stock and Status are shown by default. You can also switch on Model code, Variant code, Brand, Attribute set, Macro color, Micro color, Variants and Returns. The Completeness column is always shown. Your columns are remembered in your browser.
At the bottom of the table, choose how many products to show per page: 20, 40 (the default), 80 or 120.
Read completeness
The Completeness column scores each product from 0 to 100 on how ready it is to sell. The bar is green from 80, amber from 50 and red below 50. The score combines four checks, each with its own weight:
| Check | Weight | What it looks for |
|---|---|---|
| Attributes | 40% | Every required attribute of the product's attribute set has a value. See Attributes. |
| SEO | 25% | Meta title, meta description and handle are present and within length, and the product is translated into your languages. |
| Info | 20% | The product has a title, a description and a publication status. |
| Media | 15% | The product has at least one image. |
Edit products in the grid
Bulk actions give many products the same value. When each product needs a different value, edit them in the grid instead of opening each one.
Steps
- In the product list, click More actions > Edit in grid. The Status, Product type and Brand cells turn into drop-down fields, and an Editing in grid button appears in the page header.
- Change the cells you need. Each change is saved as soon as you make it.
- When you're done, click Editing in grid to switch the grid back to normal.
Change many products at once
Select products with the checkboxes, or use the checkbox in the header to select every product on the page. The table header turns into a bar of bulk actions.
| Action | What it does |
|---|---|
| Set as active, Set as draft, Set as archived | Sets the publication status of the selected products. Archiving asks you to confirm. |
| Product type / Brand | Set product type or Set brand gives the selected products a value; Clear product type or Clear brand empties it. |
| Category > Add to category | Adds the selected products to a category. Their other categories are kept. |
| Channel | Assign to channel or Remove from channel. Removing asks you to confirm. See Sales channels and publishing. |
| Delete | Permanently deletes the selected products, with all their variants, prices, images, translations and attributes, after a confirmation. |
A message tells you how many products changed. After a change of status to draft or archived made on products selected on the page, the message has an Undo button that puts every product back to its previous status.
Select every product that matches the filters
The checkbox in the header selects the products on the page. To act on everything the search and filters find, across all pages, select all the matching products.
Steps
- In Nucleo, go to Catalog > Catalog > Products, and search or filter the list.
- Click the checkbox in the table header. A line above the table says that all the products on this page are selected.
- In that line, click Select all with the number of matching products.
- Pick a bulk action. Nucleo asks you to confirm how many products will change, for example Change all 1,240 matching products?.
| Action | Most products at once |
|---|---|
| Status, Category and Channel | 5,000 |
| Product type, Brand and Delete | 2,000. Above that, the buttons are off: narrow the filters, or select the products on the page. |
Click Clear selection to start again. If the catalog changed in the meantime, Nucleo stops, clears the selection and reloads the list, so you never change products you didn't see.
Export what you're looking at
Under More actions > Export you can take the current slice of the catalog out of Nucleo:
- Products (CSV) downloads every product that matches the current search and filters, not just the visible page, in the same layout as the full product export. See Exporting data.
- Images builds an image package from a sales channel for the selected products. Select the products on the page first, then pick the channel. It isn't available when you selected every matching product. See Image packages.
Considerations for the product list
- Click any row to open the product editor. The arrows in the editor's header then move through this same list, with its filters and its order.
- Keyboard shortcuts:
/moves to the search, cadds a product, jandkmove down and up the rows. Press?to see them. - Viewers see the list without Edit in grid and without bulk actions. Add product appears only when you're allowed to create products.
- Choosing a language in View as shows product titles in that language where a translation exists. See Viewing as a channel or a language.
