Price lists

A price list holds the prices of a set of products in one currency. Its prices come either from the list itself (Standalone — own prices) or from another list with an adjustment and a rounding. Typing a price in the grid creates an override, which always beats the rule.

To open your price lists, go to Catalog > Catalog > Pricing. Click a list to open it.

Note
Creating a price list, saving changes to it and deleting it require the owner or admin role. Editors can add products to a list and remove them, as long as Manual price editing is on in Feature access. Viewers see every list and every price, read-only.

Type in Search price lists to find a list by name, code or currency, and click the header of Price list, Currency, Products or Status to sort.

Create a base price list

Steps

  1. In Nucleo, go to Catalog > Catalog > Pricing.
  2. Click Add price list.
  3. Under Type, select Base — durable prices.
  4. Enter a Name, for example EUR Retail.
  5. Under Currency, pick the currency.
  6. Click Create list.

A message confirms Price list created and the list appears in Pricing, empty. Click it to set where its prices come from and to add products. The code of the list is built from its name, so two lists can't have names that give the same code.

Note
The currencies you can pick are the ones in Catalog > Settings > Catalog data > Localization, under Currencies. To add one, click Add currency there and enter its Code, such as EUR, and Label. A currency used by a price list or a market can't be deleted.

Set where prices come from

Steps

  1. Open the price list.
  2. In Price adjustment, check the Currency.
  3. Under Derives from, do one of the following:
    1. Select Standalone — own prices if the list holds its own prices, typed in the grid or imported.
    2. Select another base list to derive its prices from it.
  4. If the list derives from another, set the Adjustment (Increase or Decrease), By (Percentage or Fixed amount) and the Percent or Amount. An example under the fields shows the effect on a price.
  5. Under Rounding, pick None, .00 — whole, .90 ending or .95 ending.
  6. Click Save in the Unsaved changes bar.

The grid recalculates as you change the rule, so you see the effect before saving.

Note
Amounts are whole numbers, and a percentage decrease goes from 0 to 100. A list can't derive from itself, from a sale list or from a list that already derives from it. Switching back to Standalone — own prices and saving removes the rule.

Add or remove products

Steps

  1. Open the price list.
  2. Do one of the following:
    1. In Products, click Add products, search by product or SKU, tick the products and click Add with the number of products. Only products that aren't in the list yet are shown, up to 50 per search.
    2. In the New products card on the right, turn on Include new products automatically so every product created from now on joins the list.
    3. To remove products, select them in the grid, click Remove from list, and confirm.

Adding and removing products takes effect at once. Removed products take their prices in this list with them; they stay in the catalog. Include new products automatically is saved with the Save button of the Unsaved changes bar.

Fix exceptions in the grid

In the grid, the price the rule gives a product shows as a placeholder. Typing a value creates an override for that product; clearing it goes back to the rule. A product row prices every size; expanding it shows one row per variant SKU, which inherits the product price until it has its own.

Steps

  1. Open the price list.
  2. Optional: search by product or SKU, or click a tab: All, Overrides or Not priced.
  3. Type the price in the Price field of the product.
  4. To price sizes one by one, expand the product and type the price of each variant.
  5. To go back to the rule for several products, select them and click Revert to rule.
  6. Click Save in the Unsaved changes bar.

On a list that derives from another, the Source column tells you where each price comes from:

SourceMeaning
RuleThe price comes from the list's adjustment rule.
OverrideThe price was typed by hand and beats the rule.
ProductOn a variant row, the price comes from the override of its product row.
Not pricedThe product is in the list but has no price.
Note
The grid shows 200 products per page, sorted by SKU. The search and the tabs work on the page you're on, and with unsaved changes you can't change page: save or discard first.
Tip
Use the Not priced tab to find and fill the gaps of a list quickly.

Rename a price list or change its status

Steps

  1. Open the price list.
  2. To rename it, click the pencil icon next to its name in the page header, type the new name, and press Enter. Press Esc to cancel.
  3. To change its status, pick Active or Draft in the Status card on the right.
  4. Click Save in the Unsaved changes bar.

The code of the list follows its name, so renaming a list also changes its code.

Delete a price list

Steps

  1. Open the price list.
  2. Click More actions > Delete price list.
  3. Confirm with Delete price list.

A message confirms Price list deleted and you go back to Pricing.

Caution
Deleting a price list can't be undone. Nucleo refuses to delete a list that still holds saved prices, such as overrides or its own prices, and a list that other lists or sales derive from: the message tells you how many. Remove its products first, which takes their prices with them, and delete or move the lists built on it. Your default price list can't be deleted.

See a product's prices

Open the product and click the Pricing tab. It lists every price list, sales included, with its Currency, the product's Price and its Source: Rule, Override, Price on a standalone list, Not priced, or Not in list when the product isn't in that list. Click a list to open it and change the price there.

Considerations for price lists

  • Each base list shows, in Sales on this list, every sale built on it with its window and a Live, Scheduled, Ended or Always on badge. See Sales and discounts.
  • Prices also arrive with a product import, in the Price list and Price columns. See Importing data.
  • The Pricing tab of a product is read-only for everyone: prices are changed in the price list.
