Filling missing attributes

Enrichment shows which descriptive attributes have missing values, proposes values for them, and lets you decide each proposal before anything is written. The AI never invents: when the texts say nothing about an attribute, there's no proposal.

You find it in Catalog > Catalog > Enrichment. You need the Owner, Admin or Editor role to generate, decide and apply proposals.

See where the data is missing

Steps

  1. In Nucleo, go to Catalog > Catalog > Enrichment.
  2. In Product text in, choose the language of the product texts to work in: IT, EN, DE, FR or ES. Languages with no product text are disabled.
  3. Optional: click Recalculate if the catalog has changed since you opened the page.
CardWhat it counts
Attributes with gapsDescriptive attributes with at least one missing value.
Recoverable from the textValues already written in titles or descriptions, waiting to be confirmed.
PendingProposals to decide, and how many are approved and waiting to be applied.
AppliedValues written into the catalog.

Where the data is missing lists one card per attribute with gaps: how many products are missing it, its coverage, and badges for the proposals to approve, those to apply, and the values found in the text. Click a card to open the attribute; All attributes takes you back to the list.

Note
If a figure reads Couldn't be read, Nucleo couldn't measure the gaps: it doesn't mean there's nothing to enrich. Click Recalculate or reload the page.

Get proposed values

Steps

  1. Open an attribute from Where the data is missing. The header says how many products are missing it, its coverage, and whether it holds one value per product or several.
  2. Do one or both of the following:
    1. Click Recover from text to propose the value labels found in each product's title or description. A message says how many products had the label written, and which terms were left out because they weren't reliable.
    2. Click Ask the model to have Nucleo's AI read 50 products, starting from those that speak of what shoppers search for and don't find. Click it again to read another 50.

The proposals appear in the Pending tab.

Note
The AI can also propose a value your attribute doesn't have yet. It's marked new value, and the option is created only when you apply it.

Review proposals

Each proposal shows the product, the Proposed value, what the product already has, and the evidence: the label in the text that was found, or what was read by the model, in quotes.

Steps

  1. Open the attribute and stay on the Pending tab.
  2. For each proposal, click Approve or Reject.
  3. Use Previous and Next to move between pages of 50 proposals. The line above the list says how many proposals there are and which page you're on.

The Approved, Rejected and Applied tabs keep every decision visible.

Decide proposals in groups

When you're sure, you don't have to decide one by one.

  • Click a value in By value: to show only the proposals for that value, with their average confidence. Then click Approve all … or Reject all … for that value, and confirm.
  • With All selected, click Approve all ≥ 90% to approve every pending proposal with a confidence of 90% or more, and confirm.

Approved proposals aren't written yet: they wait under Approved until you apply them. Rejected ones are never written and stay under Rejected.

Apply approved values

Steps

  1. Open the attribute.
  2. Click Apply with the number of approved values.
  3. Confirm. The window tells you how many values will be written into which attribute.

The values go into the product records, and filters, feeds and channels see them right away. A message says how many values were written on how many products. If new options were created, it lists them: they get the same label in every language, ready for you to translate.

Caution
Applying writes the values into your products. For an attribute with one value per product, the proposal replaces the value the product had. To change a value afterwards, edit the product.

Make an attribute filterable

Applied values always become searchable text. To offer the attribute as a filter next to search results, it must be filterable.

Steps

  1. Open the attribute in Enrichment.
  2. Click Make filterable. The button appears only if the attribute isn't filterable yet.

The attribute then appears in Facets, switched off until you show it. It can take a short while before the new filter works in search; until then, its values are searched as text.

Start from a word shoppers searched for

When you click Send to enrichment on a row of Queries, Enrichment opens with a From Queries message about that word:

  • If products already write the word in their text, it's vocabulary your catalog has but doesn't declare. Pick the attribute it belongs to and get proposals.
  • If no product writes it, there's nothing to enrich: it's goods you don't carry. The message suggests passing it on to whoever buys.

Considerations for enrichment

  • Nothing is written into the catalog until you click Apply. Approving only marks a proposal as ready.
  • Only descriptive attributes appear here. When every one is filled in, the page says Every descriptive attribute is filled in: nothing to enrich.
  • An attribute with several values per product gets the proposed value added to the ones it has.
  • Enrichment changes product data. To teach search a word without changing products, use a synonym.
