Using Atomo in Catalog

Atomo opens as a column on the right, next to the page you're on, so you never lose your place. It knows which page you're looking at: on a product, that product is the subject of your question, so you can simply ask fill in what's missing or translate the description into German.

The chat, the voice conversation and the history work the same way in every module. This guide covers what's specific to Catalog; see Using Atomo for the rest.

Open and close Atomo

Steps

  1. On any page of the Products or Assets area, click the lime Atomo button in the bottom-right corner (Ask Atomo).
  2. Type your request in Ask Atomo… and press Enter. Press Shift+Enter for a new line.
  3. To close the column, press Esc or click Close (ESC).
Tip
On Home, With Atomo on a finding opens Atomo with that finding already as context. See Work through what Atomo proposes.

Start from a shortcut

A new chat opens with How can I help you? and shortcuts for the area you're in. On the product pages they are:

ShortcutWhat Atomo does
List the Draft products to reviewLists the draft products above 60% completeness, ready to publish.
SKUs missing critical dataFinds the products below 40% completeness and says what's missing.
Sync status per channel, at a glanceCounts the products active on each channel.
Duplicate the last product addedDuplicates the most recent product.

Ask for what you need

A few requests that work well in Catalog:

  • Show me the active products with no images. Atomo answers and opens the list as a view next to the chat. See See what Atomo shows you.
  • What's the average price of the jackets, by brand? Numeric answers are computed on the whole catalog, not on a sample.
  • Fill this product with its suggestions. Atomo sets the attribute values it recognizes in the title and description, the attribute set and the categories, without overwriting fields you've already filled.
  • Move every hoodie in Draft to the Sweatshirts category. Atomo selects the products, tells you how many, and asks you to confirm.
  • Create a 20% sale on the outerwear, from the retail list.
  • Why is this product at 45% completeness?
  • Remember that our SKUs start with the season code. Atomo saves it as a memory. See Keep Atomo's memories.

Attach files to a message

Atomo reads photos, PDFs and sheets you give it: a supplier's price list, a line sheet, a photo of a label.

Steps

  1. In the composer, click the paperclip (Attach photos, PDFs or sheets), or drag the files onto the Atomo column and drop them on Drop the files here.
  2. Optional: type what you want Atomo to do with them. If you send the files alone, the message is Look at these files.
  3. Press Enter.
You can attachLimits
Photos (JPEG, PNG, WebP, GIF), PDFs, Excel and CSV or TSV sheets, text and Markdown filesUp to 5 files per message, up to 15 MB each.

Under its answer, Sources cites the file and, for a PDF, the page it read. A sheet of products can become a list of products to create: see Create products from a file.

Note
Attachments are kept with the conversation and deleted after 30 days. When a message includes attachments, every change Atomo proposes in that answer waits for your Confirm, however small.

Answer with a click

When Atomo needs a choice from you, it shows quick-reply buttons under its answer, such as Confirm and Cancel, so you can decide without typing. Clicking Confirm sends Yes, go ahead; Cancel sends No, cancel.

Before a change that needs your approval, Atomo shows a card with what it's about to do, such as Bulk change with the number of products, and each field from its old value to the new one. A card marked Irreversible can't be undone after you confirm.

Talk to Atomo

  • Click Dictate the message in the composer to turn speech into a message you can review before sending.
  • Click Talk to Atomo to start a voice conversation. Atomo answers when you pause, and you can interrupt it at any time. Every question and answer also lands in the chat as text.
  • Pick the Language you speak from the voice menu, and click End the conversation when you're done.
Note
If the microphone is blocked, allow it in your browser settings and try again.

Find and manage your conversations

Conversations are saved per person and per company, with automatic titles. Products and Assets share the same history, so a conversation started on a product can continue in the Library.

  • Click History to see your conversations, and click one to reopen it. Above them, Atomo views lists the views Atomo composed for you, pinned ones first.
  • In the history, rename a conversation with Rename, or delete it with Delete and confirm.
  • Click Copy the conversation to copy it as text.
  • Click New chat to start again from the shortcuts.

Considerations for Atomo in Catalog

  • If Atomo says it's disabled for your company, an owner or admin has turned it off in Settings > Organization > Atomo. See Atomo settings for your company.
  • You can send up to 20 messages a minute.
  • Viewers can ask Atomo anything, but it can't change data on their behalf.
