Locations

Locations are the places that hold your stock: warehouses, hubs and stores. They feed the inventory grid, the stock of each variant and the store operations of Nucleo Commerce.

To manage them, go to Catalog > Settings > Catalog data, and then click the Locations tab. You need the owner or admin role to add, edit or delete a location.

Add a location

Steps

  1. In Nucleo, go to Catalog > Settings > Catalog data, and then click the Locations tab.
  2. Click Add location.
  3. Enter the Location name, for example Main warehouse. Names must be unique.
  4. Optional: enter the Address.
  5. Turn on the capabilities that apply:
    1. Ships orders: online orders can be fulfilled from this location. On by default.
    2. Physical store (POS): a brick-and-mortar store with a point of sale.
    3. Default location: the default target for new stock and for the Available field of each variant.
  6. Click Create location.

Read the locations list

ColumnWhat it shows
LocationThe name, with Default under the default location.
CapabilitiesShips orders and POS, when on.
AddressThe address, if set.
SourceShopify for locations that came from your Shopify store, Manual for those created in Nucleo.

Edit a location

Steps

  1. Click the location's row, or its edit icon.
  2. Change the name, address or capabilities.
  3. Click Save changes.
Tip
Only one location is the default at a time. Setting another location as default moves the mark to it.

Delete a location

Steps

  1. Click the delete icon of the location.
  2. Confirm with Delete location.
Note
Deleting fails if any variant still holds stock at the location: the message tells you how many. Move or clear the stock first.

Import locations

To create many warehouses and stores at once, use the Locations import, matched by store code, with name, address and whether it's the default. See Importing data. The Locations export uses the same layout, so you can export, edit and re-import.
