Product history

Every change to a product is recorded in its Activity: who made it, where it came from and what the value was before. The Activity sits at the bottom of the Info tab of the product editor.

Changes made by Atomo are recorded there too, with Atomo as the author, and you restore them field by field like any other change. See Restore a previous value.

Read a product's activity

Steps

  1. Open the product and stay on the Info tab.
  2. Scroll to Activity. Entries are grouped by day (Today, Yesterday, then the date), newest first.
  3. Click an entry to open it and see each field before and after.
  4. To go further back, click Load older changes at the bottom.

Each entry reads like a sentence: who changed which fields, and from where. When the same change touched other products too, the entry says so, for example with 12 other products.

WhoMeaning
A person's nameSomeone on your team.
Atomo or Atomo for a nameAtomo, working in someone's conversation.
SourceAn external data source, such as a PLM or an ERP.
ImportA file import.
SystemNucleo itself.

The place a change came from is shown next to it, such as product sheet, bulk edit, import, enrichment queue, description phrases, duplicate, restore, Atomo chat, price lists, categories, Google Drive or new version.

When a change started a new version of the product, the entry says so, for example changed Fit · new version v2, and the field carries a badge with the version number, its name and the date it starts from. See Product versions.

Compare long texts

On long texts such as descriptions, the entry highlights only the words that changed, with a few words around them. Click Show full text to see the whole text before and after, and Changes only to go back to the compact view.

Restore a previous value

Steps

  1. In Activity, open the entry with the change you want to undo.
  2. Next to the field, click Restore.
  3. At Restore?, click the check icon (Restore value) to confirm.

The field goes back to its previous value and a message confirms Previous value restored. The restore is itself a new entry, so the history is never lost.

Note
Restore appears only on the most recent change of each field, so you never skip the changes made in between without noticing.

Keep one value in every version

If a product has versions and a change was a correction rather than a real difference between versions, such as a typo fixed in the composition, you can make today's value the value of every version.

Steps

  1. In Activity, open the entry with the change.
  2. Next to the field, click It was an error.
  3. At Keep today's value in every version?, click the check icon to confirm.

A message confirms One value in every version: the field no longer differs from one version to another.

Considerations for product history

  • Values written by an external data source are logged in the product's Activity, so they can be restored like any other change. See Data from other systems.
  • If the Activity says The change log is not active on this store yet., contact Nucleo support.
  • Changes made before the change log was active aren't listed.
