SEO
SEO fields are what search engines and channels show for a product or a category: the page title and the short summary under it. Each product carries its own meta title and meta description; each category also has a URL slug.
Product SEO lives at the bottom of the Info tab of the product editor. Category SEO lives in the Info tab of each category.
Note
SEO fields don't affect Nucleo's own site search, which reads the title, the description and the attributes. See How site search works.Write a product's SEO
Steps
- Open the product and stay on the Info tab.
- Scroll to SEO and fill in the Meta title, shown as the page title on search engines and channels.
- Fill in the Meta description, a short summary for search results and social cards.
- Check the Search engine listing preview below the fields.
- Click Save in the Unsaved changes bar.
Tip
A counter under each field shows the characters used, out of 70 for the title and 160 for the description, and turns amber above. For the completeness score, keep the meta title between 30 and 60 characters and the meta description between 120 and 160.Write a category's SEO
Steps
- In Nucleo, go to Catalog > Catalog > Categories and click the category.
- In the Info tab, under SEO, fill in the Meta title (55–60 characters suggested) and the Meta description (120–160). While they're empty, the fields show the text they fall back to.
- Fill in the URL slug.
- Click Save in the Unsaved changes bar.
Category SEO can be translated with a language in View as, and overridden per sales channel. See Categories.
Find products without SEO
- Home flags products whose SEO was never filled in, under What Atomo proposes. See The Home page.
- The Completeness score of each product includes an SEO check. See Read completeness.
- Atomo can list products missing SEO and write drafts for them. See What Atomo can do in Catalog.
Considerations for SEO
- A product's SEO is shared by every channel and language: edit it in the Global view, in your default language.
- Owners and admins can switch SEO editing off for editors in Workspace settings. The fields then become read-only for them.
