Finding assets

When the Library holds thousands of files, browsing folders isn't enough. The search box above the files filters the Library as you type, and a product's SKU finds every file linked to that product.

Search the Library

Steps

  1. In Nucleo, go to Catalog > Assets > Library.
  2. Optional: Open a folder to search only inside it and its subfolders.
  3. Click the Search box above the files and type what you're looking for.
  4. The files that match appear as you type.
  5. To clear the search, delete the text. If nothing matches, the page says No assets match your search: click Clear search.

What the search looks at

SearchedNot searched
TitleTags
Alt textRights fields, such as photographer or copyright
DescriptionFile metadata, such as camera or capture date
SKUs of the linked productsFolder names

The search matches any part of those fields and ignores upper and lower case: lookbook finds SS26 Lookbook cover.

Tip
Write useful alt text and descriptions when you upload. They make files easier to find, and alt text also makes your images accessible on your storefront.

Where the search looks

You search fromNucleo searches
The Library rootThe whole Library, including every folder you can open.
A folderThat folder and all of its subfolders.
The TrashThe files in the Trash.

Find the files of a product

Type the product's SKU in the search box from the Library root. The results are every Library file linked to that product.

You can also start from the product: Product assets lists your products with their media, and the search box there finds products by name or SKU.

Share a search with a colleague

The open folder and the text you searched for are part of the page address. Copy the address from your browser and send it: your colleague lands on the same folder with the same search.

Note
Your colleague sees only the files they're allowed to see. If the folder is restricted and they're not on its list, they see its name but not its files. See Manage who can open a folder.

Considerations for finding assets

  • Files in the Trash don't appear in searches from the Library or a folder. Open Trash to search them.
  • Files in restricted folders you can't open appear greyed out, without a preview, and you can't open them.
  • Results are split into pages of 60 files, like the rest of the Library.
  • While a large Library is still loading in the background, a search covers the files loaded so far. The line above the files tells you when everything has arrived.
  • To make files easier to find later, give them a clear title, alt text and a description, and link them to the products they show. Atomo can write alt text and titles for many files at once. See AI on your images.
