Stores and locations

Your stores, warehouses and hubs are the locations of your Shopify store. Nucleo doesn't create locations: it reads them from Shopify and uses them as the source of truth for stock, movements and stock counts.

You find the locations and the people who can work on your store in Commerce > Settings > Stores.

How Stores works with Shopify

WhatWhere it livesHow Nucleo reads it
LocationsShopifyOnce a day; the Shopify locations tab reads them again when you click Refresh.
TransfersCreated and received in ShopifyEvery two minutes, or straight away with Sync Shopify on All movements and In transit.
StockShopifyDirectly from Shopify each time you open Stock levels.

View your Shopify locations

Steps

  1. In Nucleo, go to Commerce > Settings > Stores.
  2. Click the Shopify locations tab.
  3. Optional: click Refresh to read the locations from Shopify again, for example after adding a store.

Each active location shows its name, its address (or No address) and, if it fulfills online orders, an Online fulfillment badge.

Note
To add, rename or close a location, do it in Shopify, then click Refresh.

How movements are classified

Every transfer read from Shopify gets a type automatically, from its route. Nobody has to tag the documents:

TypeRoute
InboundGoods leaving a warehouse, or a transfer created without an origin location (typically new supply).
ReturnGoods going from a store back to a warehouse.
TransferEvery other movement, typically from store to store.
Note
Nucleo recognizes a warehouse by its location name in Shopify: a location whose name contains Warehouse, Magazzino or Deposito (in any case) is a warehouse; every other location is a store. Name your locations accordingly and the classification follows. The Transfer rules tab doesn't change it: see Stores settings.

Read the store access list

Steps

  1. In Nucleo, go to Commerce > Settings > Stores.
  2. Click the Permissions tab. The Store access card lists the people who can work on your store.
ColumnWhat it shows
UserThe person's name and email.
RoleAdmin, Editor or Viewer. Admins and Editors can act — sync, record reasons, run counts; Viewers read.
Store accessAll locations, or the Shopify locations recorded for the person.

The list follows Commerce access. The store role follows each person's Commerce role — Admin stays Admin, Agent becomes Editor, Viewer stays Viewer — and is updated when they sign in; someone without access to Commerce is removed at their next sign-in. To change who works on your store, change their Commerce access. See Roles and access.

Note
Admins also see Add user, Edit and Remove here, but changes made in this tab don't last: the role is rewritten from Commerce at the next sign-in. And although the card says that transfers, stock and counts are limited to the assigned locations, the locations recorded for a person don't limit what they see yet: everyone with access to Stores sees the movements, stock and alerts of all your locations.

Stores settings

Commerce > Settings > Stores opens a page with four tabs:

Caution
Changes in Transfer rules and Notifications show a confirmation, but they aren't saved: reloading the page brings back the starting values, and they don't change how movements are classified or when alerts are raised. Classification follows the location names, overdue alerts are raised 24 hours after the expected arrival, and alerts are shown only in Alerts, with no emails. Transfer rules can also list example locations, with example email addresses, that aren't yours.
