Measuring findability
A product nobody finds doesn't sell, however good the ranking. Findability replays the searches shoppers really made and counts how many of your available products appear in the first two pages (48 results) of at least one of them. It's the figure that goes up when you fix product data, not the algorithm.
You find it in Catalog > Search > Findability. Anyone can read the measures; you need the Owner, Admin or Editor role to measure or to start a work.
Measure findability
Steps
- In Nucleo, go to Catalog > Search > Findability.
- Select the language to measure: IT, EN, DE, FR or ES. Each language has its own measures.
- Click Measure now. Nucleo replays up to 200 of the most frequent real searches in that language, without recording them, and saves the result. It takes a few seconds.
If a language has never been measured, the page says No measurement for this language.
Read the figures
| Card or panel | What it shows |
|---|---|
| Available and findable | The share of available products that at least one search reaches, with the change in points since the previous measure. |
| Findable products | How many available products are reached, out of all the available ones. |
| Zero-result searches | The share of searches that find nothing, weighted by how often they were made. |
| Searches replayed | How many searches the measure ran, and how many found something. |
| Best sellers no search finds | Available products that sell but stay outside the first two pages of every search, with their SKU and units Sold. Click a product to open it. |
| Searches that find nothing | The searches with no results, most asked first, with how many Times they were made and their Source: Store or Internal tests. |
| Measurement history | Every measure of the language, newest first. |
Let Atomo make available products findable
A work is a job Atomo carries out with you: it measures, prepares proposals for the missing attribute values, waits for your decisions, applies what you approved and measures again on the same searches, so before and after compare like with like.
Steps
- In Nucleo, go to Catalog > Search > Findability.
- In Atomo work, click Make available products findable. Nucleo measures and prepares the proposals, then opens the work.
- Wait while the status shows Preparing. When it shows Waiting for your decisions, the proposals are ready.
You can also ask Atomo to start it from the chat. The Atomo work panel lists every work with its Status, the findable share Before and After, and when it Started. Click a row to open it.
Decide on the proposals of a work
Proposals are grouped by attribute and value, such as every product that should get the same color. Each group shows how many products it covers, the confidence range and four examples: two of the most confident and two at random. new value marks a value not yet in your catalog; replaces a value marks a proposal that would overwrite one.
Steps
- Open the work from Catalog > Search > Findability > Atomo work.
- In Decisions, for each group, do one of the following:
- Click Approve _n_ to approve every pending proposal of the group.
- Click Reject to reject them.
- If the group is mixed, click Review one by one to open the proposals in Enrichment and decide them there.
- Click Apply _n_ approved at the top of the page. Nucleo writes the approved values into the products and measures again.
When it's done, the status shows Done and Findable after shows the new figure next to Findable before. Click Re-measure to measure again later. If a step fails, the status shows Failed: click Retry.
Considerations for findability
- Applying a work changes your product data, not just search: the values appear in the product editor, in filters and in what you send to your channels.
- A finished work reopens if you take a new decision on one of its groups.
- The History panel of a work lists every step, who took it (a person, Atomo or Nucleo) and when.
- You can measure up to three times a minute.
- Findability measures Nucleo's own search. Your storefront doesn't use Nucleo's search yet.
