Collections
Collections hold the repeating content of a site: news, case studies, team members, job openings. You define the fields once, and every entry of the collection follows the same structure, so your frontend always knows what it gets.
You find collections under Brain > CMS > your site > Collections. The list shows each collection with its number of fields and entries.
Create a collection
Steps
- In Nucleo, go to Brain > CMS, open the site, and then click the Collections tab.
- Click New collection.
- Enter the name, such as
News. With Auto from name ticked, the slug follows it. - Under Fields, for each field of an entry:
- Enter the Field key, the name your frontend reads, and a Label.
- Pick the Field type (see the table below). For a select, enter the options separated by commas.
- Tick Required if every entry must have it, and Localized if it takes a different value in each language.
- Click Add field for the next one, or Remove field to drop one.
- Click Create collection.
| Field type | What you enter |
|---|---|
| text | A line of text. |
| rich text | Formatted content, written as HTML. |
| image | An image URL, copied from the Media tab. |
| date | A date. |
| number | A number. |
| boolean | On or off. |
| select | One of the options you defined. |
| reference | The identifier of another item. |
| list | A list of values, written as JSON. |
Write an entry
Steps
- In the Collections tab, click the collection.
- Click New entry. The entry editor opens.
- Pick the Language tab you want to write.
- Enter the Title and check the Slug (with Auto from title, it follows the title).
- Fill in the fields.
- Click Save, or Save & close.
A field that isn't localized is still stored per language: the editor reminds you to use the same value in every language.
Publish an entry
Open the entry, pick the Language tab, and then click Publish. Each language is published on its own, and only published entries are served by the delivery API.
Once published, View on site opens the entry on your frontend, when the site's public address is set.
Read the entries list
A collection's page lists its entries, 50 per page, with one column per language showing the status of each translation: Published, Published · draft, Draft, or a dash when the language isn't written yet.
Delete an entry or a collection
- To delete an entry, click the trash icon on its row, and then click Delete. It disappears from the delivery API immediately.
- To delete a whole collection, open it and click Delete collection, and then confirm. The collection and all its entries stop being served.
