Switching companies and modules
Some people work for more than one company in Nucleo, for example a group with several brands, or an agency that looks after several clients. Each company has its own data, its own modules and its own people. The company you select decides what every page shows.
You pick a company and a module when you sign in. After that, you switch from the top of the sidebar: the company switcher sits at the very top, and the module switcher right below it.
Switch module
Steps
- At the top of the sidebar, below the company, click the card of the current module. Your other modules unfold above and below it.
- Click the module you want to open.
Nucleo opens the module's home page and keeps you signed in. The sidebar changes to the sections of the new module.
Switch company
The company switcher shows the logo of the selected company, or its name if it has no logo. If you belong to a single company, it's just a label and there's nothing to click.
Steps
- At the very top of the sidebar, click the company card. The Switch company menu opens, with a check mark next to the current company.
- Click the company you want to work on.
Nucleo reloads the page for the new company. If the new company has the module you were in, you land on that module's home page. If it doesn't, you land in the first module available to you there.
Work with several companies at the same time
The company is part of the page address: after app.nucleoplatform.com comes the company's code, then the module and the page, for example app.nucleoplatform.com/<company code>/catalog/products. The code is chosen when the company is set up in Nucleo and never changes.
- Each browser tab works on the company in its own address. You can keep two companies open side by side, in two tabs, and save in both.
- A link you copy from the address bar opens the same company for the colleague you send it to, with their own permissions.
- Typing app.nucleoplatform.com followed only by a company code opens that company on the last module you used.
- A link without a company code, such as an old bookmark, opens on the last company you selected.
- The browser tab title starts with the company name, so tabs on different companies are easy to tell apart. See The Nucleo shell.
- Your profile, such as language, theme and notification preferences, doesn't change when you switch company. See Your account.
Considerations for switching
- When the sidebar is collapsed, the company and module switchers are replaced by the icon of the current module. Click it to expand the sidebar, then switch as usual.
- Your role can be different in each company and in each module. An action you can take in one company may not be available in another. See Roles and permissions.
- If an address points to a company code that doesn't exist, or to a company you don't have access to, Nucleo shows Company not available with a button to go back to your current company.
- Your Profile isn't tied to a module: it stays open when you switch module.
