Notifications

The bell at the bottom of the sidebar, next to your name, collects what needs your attention across modules, such as a new customer care ticket, a new booking or a contract about to expire. Today Brain and Commerce send notifications; Catalog and Intelligence don't send any yet.

You only see notifications for the company you're working in, and only from modules you have access to in that company.

Read your notifications

A badge on the bell shows how many notifications you haven't read. While the Nucleo tab is in front, Nucleo checks for new ones every 20 seconds, and plays a short chime when one arrives if the sound is on.

Steps

  1. Click the bell at the bottom of the sidebar. The Notifications panel opens, with the number of unread notifications, or All caught up.
  2. Read the list. Unread notifications are under Unread, and the ones you've already opened are under Earlier. Each one shows the module it comes from and how long ago it arrived.
  3. Click a notification to open the record it refers to. The notification is marked as read.

The panel shows your 30 most recent notifications.

Mark all as read or mute the sound

Steps

  1. Click the bell at the bottom of the sidebar.
  2. In the panel header, do one of the following:
    1. Click Mark all as read to clear the badge.
    2. Click Mute sound to stop the chime, or Unmute sound to turn it back on. When you turn it back on, you hear the chime once so you know what it sounds like.
Note
Browsers only play sounds after you've clicked or typed on the page at least once. If you open Nucleo and don't touch it, the first chime may not play.

Set your notification preferences

For each module, you choose whether it can notify you at all, and then, for each group of notifications, whether it reaches you in the bell, by email, or both.

Steps

  1. Click your name at the bottom of the sidebar, click Profile, then click the Notifications tab. You can also click Notification settings at the bottom of the bell panel.
  2. Under Notification sound, turn Sound on new notifications on or off.
  3. In each module's panel, use the switch next to the module's name to turn the whole module on or off.
  4. For each notification of a module that's on, turn Bell and Email on or off. A dash in the Email column means that notification isn't sent by email.

Each switch is saved as soon as you change it. The page lists the modules active for the company you're in; a module that sends nothing says This module doesn't send notifications yet.

Considerations for notifications

  • Preferences belong to your profile, not to a company. A notification you turn off stays off in every company you work in.
  • Which events a module notifies, and to whom, is set inside the module. In Brain, see Emails and notifications and Rules and alert routing. In Commerce, see SLA and notifications.
  • If you lose access to a module, its notifications disappear from your bell.
