Orders
Selling on more than one channel usually means more than one place where orders live, and more than one version of the truth about stock. The Orders area is designed to bring that together: every order, whatever channel it came from, managed in one place against one stock position.
It's the first group of the Commerce sidebar, right under the Home.
What Orders is designed for
| Area | What it's for |
|---|---|
| Omnichannel orders | Orders from your sales channels in a single queue, with a single lifecycle. |
| Stock and availability | One stock position across warehouses, stores and channels. |
| Fulfillment routing | Each order sent to the right warehouse, store or logistics partner. |
| Returns | Returns followed end to end, with the reason and the outcome of each one. |
Order management is switched on for each company by the Nucleo team. To find out when it can be switched on for yours, see Getting help.
Open the Orders area
Steps
- In Nucleo, go to Commerce.
- In the sidebar, under Orders, click Orders.
Note
If the Orders group isn't in the sidebar, the area isn't active for your company. When order management is switched on for your company, the Orders group lists its own pages instead of the single Orders entry. What the Orders home shows
| Element | What it shows |
|---|---|
| Greeting | Your name, today's date and the line Every order, one operational brain. |
| Figures | Open orders, To fulfill, Returns (7d), Oversell risk and Syncing. They're examples: nothing on this page reflects your orders. |
| Ask Atomo | Suggested questions about orders, such as Which orders are stuck today?. Each one opens Atomo with the question written, but Atomo can't read Commerce data yet. See Atomo in Commerce. |
Note
There are no Orders settings: the Settings panel of Commerce lists only Stores and Customer care.Where order-related work happens today
- A customer case about an order — a delay, a return, a refund — is handled in Customer care, with the order reference on the ticket.
- Stock movements between your warehouses and stores are followed in Stores.
Record Shopify orders without processing them
The Shopify connection of Commerce has a Record only switch. When it's on, orders from your store are recorded and nothing else: no routing, holds, warehouses or partner events. Use it while order management isn't live for that store.
- A new Shopify connection starts with Record only on.
- Orders and returns that come in this way have the status Recorded. A recorded return becomes Closed or Cancelled when Shopify says so.
- A recorded order stays recorded when you turn Record only off: only orders that arrive afterwards go through order management.
- The order history imported by the Shopify setup is always recorded, whatever the switch says.
Steps
- In Nucleo, go to Catalog > Settings, click Connections, and open your Shopify connection.
- In the Setup and flows card, click Setup wizard, and then click Stock, customers, orders.
- In the notice at the top, click Open the connection.
- Under Settings, turn Record only on or off.
- Click Save.
