Adding people

Company administrators add teammates from Settings > Users. You choose the person's role in the company and, optionally, a first module and their role in it. You can give access to more modules afterwards from their card.

Only people with the Admin company role can add people. See Roles and permissions.

Add a person

Steps

  1. In Nucleo, go to Settings > Users.
  2. Click Add person in the page header. The Add person dialog opens.
  3. If you administer more than one company, select the company in Company.
  4. In Work email, enter the email address the person will sign in with.
  5. In Name, enter their full name. This is required only for people who aren't on Nucleo yet.
  6. In Role in the company, select Admin, Billing or Member. The hint under the field explains what the role allows.
  7. In Module (optional), choose one of the following:
    1. No module — company only, for people who only need to belong to the company, such as a billing contact.
    2. A module active for the company. The Role field appears, set to the read-only role of that module. Change it if the person needs to do more: the hint under the field describes each role.
  8. Click Add person at the bottom of the dialog. The button works once the email address is valid.

Nucleo confirms what happened and the person appears in the list:

If the email is…What happens
Already on NucleoAccess is granted right away. Nucleo shows <email> now has access. The person sees the company the next time they sign in or open the company switcher.
New to NucleoThe account is created and an invitation email is sent immediately. Nucleo shows Invitation sent to <email>. The person appears as Invited until they accept. See Accepting an invitation.
Tip
Start with the read-only role and raise it when the person needs it. It's quicker to give more access than to undo a change someone wasn't supposed to make.

Give access to more modules

The Add person form gives access to one module at a time. To add others, open the person's card in the list and use Add module. See Managing people and companies.

Considerations for adding people

  • The email address is the person's identity in Nucleo. Use their work address, and the same one they'll use for single sign-on with Google, if any.
  • If the person already belongs to the company, adding them again doesn't change their company role: it only adds the module you chose. To change the company role, use their card.
  • An invitation is valid for 7 days. If it expires or doesn't arrive, resend it from the person's card.
  • The modules you can choose are the ones active for the company. Active modules depend on your plan, which you see in Settings > Plan: to add one, contact the Nucleo team.
  • In Brain, people who administer Brain can also manage Brain's users from inside the module. See Users and roles.
